NETWORKING DEVICES


Devices are the way which use to create or communicate a network. Some devices are use to create a network e.g. switch , hub.and some devices are use to perform the communication between two different network and some devices are used to regenerate the signal e.g. repeater. So there are so many networking devices which are used in Networking.

3:- Bridge :- bridge is defined through capital (H)

5:- router :- two type of router
    1-: static router
    2-: dynamic router

All devices are divided into 4 categories:

1:- lan devices -: repeater , hub , bridge , switch
2:- routing devices -: router , layer 3 switch
3:- special devices -: B-router , MPR
4:- other devices -:

All hardware devices are designed according to first 3 layer of osi model
1:- layer 1 device(physical layer)-: repeater , hub
2:- layer 2 device(data link layer)-: bridge , switch , lan card , modem ,    printer
3:- layer 3 device(network layer)-: router , MPR
4:- multi layer device-: b-router , layer 3 switch
